Tracy Lofts: Billings, MT–LEED Platinum Certified
The sturdy brick George L. Tracy Building was built in 1919 as a distribution center. With 18,000 square feet of space, this 3-level building (6,000/level) was built as a rail serviced, refrigerated warehouse. Keeping the existing shell, it now includes 19 loft apartments. The work was done in accordance with the “Secretary of Interior’s Standards for the Rehabilitation of Historic Structures”. Tracy Lofts achieved a LEED® for Homes Platinum certification.
Green building features included a super-insulated building shell, radiant floor heating, radiant floor cooling system, a solar hot water system, water-efficient plumbing fixtures, Energy Star® appliances and lighting, rainwater collection for toilet flushing and site irrigation, and a 4 kW photovoltaic array.
